A true hero through and through

a lot more than I realized to make even the most simple and obvious progress. I think anyone deals with all that combativeness. And I work in commercial litigation in a law firm, I see it all day. What I’m talking about here is very different than that.

Everything’s got so much additional shit, none of these solutions are simple and then we get pissed when we don’t see the change we wanna see happen. I appreciate anyone who goes out and handles combat like that. I didn’t really know it existed like at the level it did here so I give Kamala props.

I could help make change, and all it did was make me crazy, get me into arguments with people I live around, & realize how complicated everything must be that I don’t know about if something like being a member on the board of a 48 unit complex that I’ve lived in for a decade turned out. /4

Suffice to say, that was two years ago, and since then the Complex has gone to shit, our fees have increased 200 a month starting January 2025 and we almost lost our insurance for the whole complex because of its lack of maintenance to put it plainly. I walked in very ignorant and thinking /3

“No, they’re not insured enough” “ no, that’s not a problem right now” or my favorite “no, we don’t have the money.” I understand, having a discussion and coming to an understanding, but there was this circle fuck of nothing happening month after month. I finally quit after two years. /3

nothing is necessary & all the problems we have are just one offs - everything is fine. “But let’s send a notice to the guy over there about feeding the squirrels and then the board will have a win.” Literally I would call these companies, the best prices to do the simplest things. /2

Proactively vs reactively, I was so proud to get on it & work tp make positive process. It was fight and fight, no no no…. /1
