She's a cabinet officer, appointed by Congress. She can be impeached.

Is there a valid comparison to the US experience in the current outbreak? How are Mexico, Canada doing, for example?

He's a coyote, the breeding male of the local family. He's older, easy-going, and likes to sit out front with me near because he doesn't have to worry about getting harassed by people or dogs.

Are you guys familiar with the term "free-ranging pet"? Here's mine, sitting in the front yard a little ways from me, watching people walk their dogs.

It's not about liking a collective. It's about liking an individual.

Well, but. The problem is the regime. Who can all be impeached or indicted as well. Sounds impossible, but major lawsuits happen all the time. Surely we can handle the logistics of several dozen indictments and clean house.

Right - for individuals. For the health of the public, we need an change in thinking and in infrastructure.

I'd like to hear about bodkin, now, please...

This was in Seattle, so perhaps my wife met your mother. She worked at the Asian Counseling and Referral Center in downtown on Yesler in J-town. /2

That's about the time my wife, 전명은/Myungeun Strickland, took her citizenship test (twice, because the examiner didn't like her uppity attitude and failed her the first time with things like "name the entire congressional delegation for this state") /1

I'm here to inform you that true kimchi is not what the tourists to Korea get. It's a much more flavorful concoction, not slanted toward the bland palates of people who've never adventured beyond an occasional jalapeno.

I understand the furor, and it's appropriate. That said, I retired in 2010, and the last NIH grant proposal I submitted had a $1.5 million budget.

Are you sure you prefer "made in USA" medications? I'm not.

I was happy with the speech. He didn't declare war on Venezuela

Are you smart, Stephen Miller? Did you ace your SATs or whatever? Okay, here's the Korean college entrance exam. Go to it.

Ya know, Hercules got suckered into doing some chores for the promise of rewards. You might want to talk to him about that.
December 6, 2025 at 4:31 AM
Looks like we're planning to fix this by becoming a less advanced country.
December 1, 2025 at 3:52 PM
I guess that depends on what their goal was. The AFSC has a bumper sticker I find irritating: "War is not the answer". Well, Friends, that depends on what the question was.

Oh, man, don't go look up how caloric content of food is calculated if you value your trust of nutritionists.

Not sure where I'm going with this, but we've certainly noticed pockets of measles outbreaks centered geographically, e.g. in northern California, probably because of anti-vax PTAs and soccer moms. The Disney Christmas outbreak (2016?) is a good example.

One of the most effective tactics for spreading smoking was the free cigarettes to soldiers during WWII.
Different topic...social media spreads to a wider audience, but back in the day, population was smaller & people more isolated.

Oh, they found the playbook! But back in 2020 when things were getting going, they couldn't find it/said it didn't exist...gee, I wonder what this is on my desktop computer:

Hogwash! We never have been ready. Our idea of epidemic control is getting people vaccinated. That relies on individual behavior. A public health program that relies only on individual behavior is doomed from the outset.

Happens a lot. People are astonished when I say there's no epidemiologic evidence that Roundup is carcinogenic.
