With our looming (movers come in less that 2 months!) relocation to Ireland, I am trying to parse the purging of things across each weekend. Today was superfluous luggage and my Vancouver 2010 #Olympic memories. Two ticks! And all the feels!

I was do a pre-move pre-purge pre-purge about a month ago. Among various papers I found an entire manuscript for (an #academic) book, along with a letter from the university press "looking forward" to receiving it. I could only vague recall any of these, but it was like 200 pages. Zero recall #wtaf

I bought the Kindle edition of Giuffre's book. Not to read it--I suspect it will be too harrowing--but I figured at least her kids will get some $ out of it.

I am officially no longer a US citizen. While I find the current regime repugnant, politics isn't a primary driver of this change. Simply put, I'll never live there again, and the US government's intrusive laws increasingly making overseas banking impossible as an ex-patriot (get it? ex patriot?).

I accept that there are compromises in digital formats of things. As an ex-book fetishist I get that. But OMG I ADORE being able to travel with a treasure trove of culture (books, music, film) wherever I go. It's fucking awesome.
