I’d read his Rome Prophecy first which I enjoyed & the Venice one was an earlier book, which I then picked up. It was a bit different as there were two separate stories, one an Etruscan from B.C. and a modern day one. And it was also quite gruesome. But yes, I did enjoy (most of) it.
