I want the house to offer bets on this.

Something on the lines of
"Climate events will cause MORE or LESS than ${pick a figure} worth of insurance losses in 2025.

In 2024 it was $154 billion. Seems a good figure to start with.

He has a fake avatar, and a fake name, and is spouting fake information.

I'd ignore / mute it. Its just one of the many bots designed to baffle and confuse.

We have millions of people unemployed.

If half of those entered the public sector, we get better services.

And the income they spend, would fund the other half's wages in the private sector.

BUT, millions more would now be consuming more, they can afford.

Not the question I asked.
February 10, 2025 at 10:43 PM
We consume what we produce.

Unless the economy is maxed out (and its not by any measure), we can employ more resources to run the NHS / public services, without reducing the amount of private production.

So that our money should go as far as it does today. Just better public services.
February 10, 2025 at 4:36 AM
We could. But people don't want to learn about banking.

It is thought that bank rate is put up to counteract inflation.

But, there is little evidence this is true.
February 9, 2025 at 11:23 AM
We consume what we produce.

If we increase the size of the public sector, without increasing the size of the private, then there can not be any more stuff (goods/services) for us to buy.

So financially we will be the same.
February 9, 2025 at 11:21 AM
We are told, almost continuously that increases in public service funding will leave us worse off. 'Who's going to pay for it'.

This is the taxpayer myth. And this is how they justify sell off of our public services.

What they don't tell us is that more public funding puts money INTO our pockets.
February 9, 2025 at 11:13 AM
Yes, but I said financially, as in the amount of money left in our pockets after tax, to spend on things.
February 9, 2025 at 11:11 AM
If you are on the left, and find this a difficult question to answer because you really believe that better public services, require the public to be worse off (2), then you are mistaken.

The answer, as far as I can see is 1. The Same.

But why? How can we not be worse off we're paying more tax?

Im not talking about the right-wing Labour party.

I am talking about the left wing independent news sources , byline-times, Novara-media who feed us bullshit economics. This bullshit facilitate and justify what Labour are doing.

They don't believe it
They don't want to believe it

This extreme arrogance amongst those on the left, has potentially left us facing another bought of crippling austerity, where people will die, because they are too proud to change their minds about the world being flat.

In my field, software engineering, there is more chance of working with someone with autism. Their ability to see abstract problems in a different way, to analyse and break things down into component functions, is incredible.

Autism is just a different OS installed on the brain.

Some might say its far more efficient at some things, far less at others.

But isn't that a good thing? There are things that only those with autism can do easily. Everyone else is deficient.
