Products and UIs.
Technology and market capitalism are trend amplifiers. Suddenly we have hundreds of delivery drivers, or AI bots, or military drones. Instead of solving problems like social isolation, extremism and environmental problems, they are making them worse.

Price of both gold (yellow) and stocks (sp500 in red) going up steeply. Perhaps both an AI and a gold bubble? 🤔 Markets are strange, and so is the economy in general. www.longtermtrends.net/stocks-vs-go...

I love the full-page video background in the portfolio of Alex Rott. This is also the way I interact with many of my clients: via Zoom, Hangouts, etc. I think I could copy the idea for my portfolio when I do a redesign. :) alexrott.cargo.site

Interesting UX detail in Linear: you can actually filter things to filter, and even filter the attributes that the filters can take. :o

While designing an utterly functional monochromatic modal dialog, I got a sudden longing for doing something frivolous, similar to Kai Krause's UI:s or Winamp skins. Or even adding a little bit of extra to an interface: a tab to grab on or a slightly bent page corner.

Shadcn UI reminds me of Xerox Alto/Star from over 40 years ago. Rounded corners and high contrast black-and-white stand the test of time.

This is similar to what Threads and Bsky are doing. X is not quite as polished. Essentially moving towards Android bottom navigation but flipped vertically.

1. What if browsers provided something like this natively that you could customize?
2. Why no slow tooltips? Should I remember what these do?

Seems to work nicely, the only adjustment I made was that I added an emoji to the output. :)
