Seriously tho, this is a well-reported piece that make it hard not to conclude that Patel is using government resources to enjoy the trappings of a mid-level celebrity, like hosting his buddies for a golf retreat in Scotland.

I wouldn’t blame “legacy media” persay, but I wouldn’t trust historic newspapers who were bought by techno fascist weirdos and clearly carry water for their bullshit.

Again, that's a choice, not a national affordability problem.

No one is forcing you to buy a $70k car. You can buy a Nissan Versa for $17,500 that gets ~30 MPG.

Yes, your local zoning laws and the ability for developers to get projects entitled is entirely local. As are the quality of your local schools and whatever else you want to complain about.

Your choice. Again, a local issue, not a national "affordability crises".

Size? Typology? And yes, commute. If you're unwilling to make those tradeoffs, that's your decision. We are in agreeance that California and LA should be doing more to add density and housing. But your sentiment is found in cities all over the country, even affordable ones.

I'm not sure how that implies people can't find housing. Congrats, you should have some good equity should you decide to move.

Again, that's not a national issue. That's a you issue and a local issue.

Here you go: www.redfin.com/TX/Richmond/...

< $300,000. Very attainable.

You get in all the cities though. Like this person said, he wants to live in a neighborhood very close to their job, with great schools, a specific house for a "family", at a price that works for them. The issue is people don't want to compromise.
November 21, 2025 at 9:17 PM
None of that is true. No place doesn't have public schools, you can commute, and there are a variety of housing typologies. But lets say all that is true, these challenges have existed through out time and there isn't some ideal era to harken back to.

Again, localized. Houston's added way more people and way more jobs than Seattle. And I understand there are geographic differences there, but also Seattle's low density neighborhoods have fought increasing the supply of housing. Its a choice.

I don't think Will is implying its easy. He's saying its a localized problem and overall, shouldn't really be something you're choosing a President over. Like people were complaining about affordability under Biden, so chose Trump.... because? He was going to make California homes affordable?

Do you have this chart further back? Not really fair to focus on the time period where home prices cratered because of a home-oriented recession which took ~10 years to recover. If people want to go back to "the greatest recession of our time" to get back to affordability, not sure what to say.
