It is indeed a privilege. And again, I'm not denegrating those who take advantage of - or prefer - audio books. They certainly fill a vital need, and book lovers are better off for them.

I prefer reading, but do occasionally listen. It's a matter of priority. Reading is a primary activity, requiring focus. Listening, is typically secondary, done while driving, cleaning, etc. It's no less valid, but a different engagement level. Books say "Give me your undivided attention".
