I’ve started work on spring stock. These are beautiful brown oak, I keep the chainsawed rim for a rustic look. They’ll be food safe so ok for salad bowls.

This technique is unique to my work I think. Green turned oak that I leave to dry before lime washing. This causes a chemical reaction that changes the colour, I then burnish with stone to leave a smooth finish. I’ll be making more of these later this year.
