I think I got that right. In most states citizens can get signatures on a petition in order to get a specific measure on a ballot; like voting to apply to Congress for a national convention, or forming a state convention for ratification, because we know that the state legislatures never would!

Afterwards, if the Amendment(s) are accepted for ratification, each state would have to then get a measure on their ballot and vote for the formation of a State Convention, where the voters would vote to ratify the Amendment, instead of the Legislature.

Each state, of a minimum of 34 (⅔) states, would need to vote to approve adding each of their States to an application, to the US Congress, requesting the formation of a National Convention, for the purposes of proposing a Constitutional Amendment(s).

If citizens are disgusted enough, they can use the alternate method for proposing and passing an Amendment. It's extremely hard, though.
An Amendment has never been successfully proposed using the National Convention method.
