Southern Ontario's air quality index (AQHI) is at 10 meaning high risk as wildfire smoke moves in. Those at high risk for respiratory distress should stay indoors and everyone else should avoid strenuous exercise. My heart goes out to evacuees and firefighters in western and central Canada.

I asked ChatGPT about a fictional scenario where the US invades Canada with suggestions of major battles. It gave me that and asked if I'd like a map with it. I agreed. Judging by the result, AI won't be replacing the mapmakers soon.

It did, Eastern and Central Ontario. Our city, Peterborough got hit by the worst. We had downed trees, branches, and power lines. Most parts of the city had no power for 1-2 days, some were without for a week! Beautiful but disastrous! I took a couple of pictures but not great quality.

Amazing how survival rates have gone up, some drastically.

The stock markets did bottom out in March 2020 but they rebounded although it took some of them until summer to get back to where they were. I don't blame Trump for the stock market then but I don't give him credit for the recovery either. He was simply irrelevant.

Here's a snippet from ChatGPT. I asked it to compare and contrast reasons why tariffs would be good or bad for the economy and make a final determination. The result wasn't surprising and agrees with what most economists would say.

It didn't take long for grocery stores in Canada to help their customers punish American producers. I saw this today. Note the yellow maple leafs on the price tags.

Amazing what a few months can do. Canadian nationalism has reversed the fortunes of the Liberals. Trump's actions could help re-elect a leftist party that was dead in the water.

The largest province in Canada isn't messing around. Canadians have a fighting record you wouldn't believe. We don't mess around.

Most flyers and advertising in Canada are itemizing nationally-produced products. The app for my favourite grocery store has this section:

I hope the snowbirds (Canadians that go to Florida every winter for extended stays, usually seniors) are doing the same.

The important thing to know now is that there isn't sustained human-to-human transfer. I don't know about my country but the US has stockpiled millions of doses of the H5N1 vaccine but it's for an older type so it's unknown how effective it is.

Does the US want a trade war with Canada? They might want to think about where their energy comes from.
