Writer, music & horror geek, indie gaming lover, have a pitbull named Gigi I adore.
I've been gaslit by algorithms before, you're not stupid and you're not alone. Being able to admit you were tricked takes a lot of strength and maturity.

Here's one of my theories on AI: you know how they keep trying to make Grok --racist-- conservative, but it keeps correcting itself? It's because racism is the fear of "the other"/the unknown. A system built to learn can't be racist because its goal is to fix ignorance. Bell Hooks taught me that.

If your tie falls below your belt, I'll assume you're special needs. Apologies if I talk slowly to you and you're not.

If they go after Seth Meyers I will lose my shit. That guy helped me get through 2020

Anyone know how to find a writing partner?

I'm pretty stoic and stone faced; not very animated. I love to laugh, I just don't do it as often as I'd like.

Tim Robinson can make a facial expression and have me crying laughing. Every time. I didn't think I could laugh like that anymore.

I love that guy.

RIP David Lynch - one of the most unique, original storytellers of all time. Almost every movie he made was a masterpiece.

Happy New Year!

My mantra for the new year comes from the late great author Michelle McNamara

I know we all love Jake Paul, but I have discovered some things about his Mike Tyson fight that suggests he may not be the good guy we all think he is:

I think that letter writing dying off is a tragedy.

I've been reading published selected letters from different authors and it's a trip - insights, humor, personal growth...

Any recommendations?

I dread the Selected emoji texts by an Instagram influencer books we'll see in 10 years

Fine, I admit it - when I feed my dog a string cheese, I peel it for her rather than giving it whole. She enjoys it more.

I abhor music gatekeeping. I'll admit: I was guilty af of it decades ago when I ran a punk label in the 90s. I feuded with a ska label for not being punk enough. But gatekeeping rehab is real... there's so much gold across all genres

No one talks about reverse cat fishing - attractive people that get you hooked on sex before you discover they're vapid, empty, and crazy ugly on the inside

I'm one of the writers who used to make a great living, but had my core job skill automated away by AI. A lot of us are quiet folks, but if anyone's making a tally...

You could have no idea who Batman is and find The Penguin to be an amazing show - not breaking bad good, but in that league. I say this after running into folks that refuse to try it because it's "comic book-y". You're missing out.
