We wrestled with this. 😔
We wanted to support Laravel 12 before Statamic 6 so people didn't have to wait months. In order to support Laravel 12, we needed to support Carbon 3.
People that are using Carbon directly should be requiring it in their composer.jsons but (understandably) don't.
