My first is about a plant I’ve come to really appreciate. Frost Aster (Symphyotrichum pilosum) is a perennial native to much of central and eastern North America. It provides habitat for mammals, nectar for pollinators in fall, and food for birds, particularly Dark Eyed Juncos, in the winter.
