Many years ago I stayed with a US lawyer for a couple of days. I mentioned to him how illogical some US court decisions seemed to us. He agreed wholeheartedly, adding, "The problem is, there are too many lawyers in America". There, in a nutshell, is the free market at its most feral.

I don't trust the current US legal system to play this impartially, given that every US citizen is brought up to believe that America is everything and nothing beyond its borders matters.
