Totally worth a re-read. Holds up remarkably well. As do most parts of Snow Crash/Diamond Age. Just re-read both in the past month and a lot of it turned out to be scarily prescient.

This and Diamond Age are the ones that shock me when someone hasn't read them. Plus the Mirrorshades anthology, among a certain vintage of book-punk nerds. Like, how did you have a brain and eyeballs and a few bucks and NOT read Dogfight or Burning Chrome when you were 15...?
