The Pitch: When asked why she decided to abruptly end her successful pageant career after winning the nation’s prestigious teen Blossom Pageant at fifteen years old, Ellie May always responded that she wanted to end on a high note. In reality, it was the lowest she’d ever been. A decade later, fame-obsessed Ellie is killed off her TV show, forcing her to return to the dark and glittering world of pageants. But when her co-host turns out to be Harry Danvers, the devil from her childhood, Ellie must fight for her stardom while her fragile sanity stretches thin, as he tries to claw his way back into her life. 3. The Excerpt: She’s spun around in her chair and is face-to-face with Harry Danvers for the first time in a decade. “Surprised, aren’t ya? Had them keep it a secret!” His voice sends a shiver down her spine, and she can’t raise her eyes to meet his face. Instead, she stares at his blue striped tie, focusing on the rose tie pin and fighting the urge to vomit. He keeps his hands clamped down on her shoulders, holding her in place now as easily as he used to all those years ago. She can tell by his voice that he’s smiling. The sound of clapping causes Ellie to jerk her head to look behind her, seeing the producers and Rita clapping for the joyous reunion. Maggie cautiously claps as well, eyes catching on the way Ellie’s fingers are digging into the fabric of the chair. Harry’s booming laughter has her whipping her head back to him, this time meeting his gaze. His face looks like it belongs on the welcome billboard for a town from the fifties–bright, white smile, each tooth perfect, and golden tanned skin. Any gray hairs that should be showing by now are dyed to match the rest of his deep, chestnut brown hair. His crinkled brown eyes are nearly black with the secrets that are kept behind them. “Guess we shocked ya, huh? Can’t say hello to an old friend?” His voice is kind, but Ellie catches the mocking tone underneath. 4. here’s a piece I did last month before terrifier 3 released!
I cut out art’s head on wood, glued down fabric interfacing, then painted with acrylics. I also cut out two of his glasses and they attach with magnets so I can switch them out! :O)
