Sadly, they deceive not just themselves, but others as well. As Jesus said elsewhere, "Woe to you, hypocrites, you blind guides." It's not just that war-makers think they can see, when in actuality they are blind. They also claim to see more clearly than others, and thus assume the role of guide.

When a third of my town flooded during Hurricane Harvey, we were two homes shy of flooding. Now we always get flood insurance! Good reminder.

Sweet. What part of Canada are you in? My wife—a family doc—has looked at a few jobs in BC, ON and PE ... though most likely we'll be staying put to wage peace in the craziness that is present-day Texas.

So sad, yet true. As I say in Fight Like Jesus, "The great tragedy in the church today is that many have unknowingly embraced the wrong Jesus. They are clinging with all their might to Jesus Barabbas as they refuse to let go of his way of making peace."
