Autumn has really set in now. Misty rides on Ghost amongst the flaming bracken.

It's that time of year when the sunset falls almost exactly inline with a lovely part of my regular ride out into the woodland. This is on SilverMoon. (Also there's a new podcast out on the companion channel to this one called Modern History TV Podcasts.)

Out on SilverMoon the other day and thought I'd try a spot of poetry.

Autumn colours, crisp air, out on on Gossamer.

A grey and overcast weekend. Almost no colours in the sky but spectacular autumn leaves.

A big sky out on SilverMoon the other day. He was keen to get back into his stable before sunset.

Ghost looking all majestic at sunset the other day, (with some chap on his back).

The nights are drawing in so my last ride of the weekend is getting ever earlier. Ghost and I say goodbye to the sun on another lovely autumn day.

It's late September and I just noticed a new rose blooming on a rescued rose bush. It is beautiful. Is this an unusual time for a rose to bloom?

Started the apple harvest. The apple trees had a hard time here due to the incredibly dry summer, and lots of the apples are about half the size they should be. I wonder how they'll taste and store over the winter? Plenty to go around though so no shortage of pies and crumbles ahead over the winter.

Just completed some filming in between rain showers. It'll take a few days to edit and release, but meanwhile I thought you might like to guess what the subject is!

Been a great few days topped off with a beautiful sunset ride on my veteran warhorse Warlord. He is a very good boy indeed.

Couldn't resist posting this photo taken today, from the back of SilverMoon. The rain missed us this time but the sky was spectacular.

A busy but fantastic week, award nominations, game releases, great team work, super supportive friends and colleagues, and I just planted another tree, a decent sized apple. Probably a bit early in the season but it was pre-ordered and arrived from the nursery so needed to go in the ground ASAP.

Ghost wondering what I'm doing with that black oblong thing whilst asking him to halt, when he could be charging forward, hooves flying and drinking the wind.

I know AI art is a topic that generates heated discussions. What do people think of this image ethically? The photo was taken by me and I worked with Photoshop and an AI tool to modify the horizon into an image from a high fantasy landscape. Mathematically about 30% of the pixels are AI generated.

Sunset ride on Gossamer at the end of a busy day. I wonder what she saw in the distance?

Out training fancy moves on SilverMoon. No reason to avoid showing off a bit when on an adventure of the equestrian kind.

August 22nd, Bosworth, 1485, Richard III is killed and the Tudor era begins. Here's Warlord and I at the reenactment close to the site of the actual battle in Leicestershire. We were on Richard's side. (I've lost who took the photo, sorry!)

SilverMoon and I had a lovely, atmospheric ride on Sunday evening. The days are clearly drawing in towards winter and before we know it it'll be dark at 5pm. Hopefully rain and cooler weather ahead. I might get the woolen cloaks prepared before too long.

A grab from the latest work in progress video. Riding out on Ghost in golden hour and speaking to the camera. No grading or lighting done yet, just the natural sunlight, it was beautiful.

The wind smells like woodsmoke and wildflowers, and the sun falls soft ahead of me. Home is close.

My fancy Lord of Blackthorne books are being shipped out as we speak. Shiny gold foil and Edouard's wonderful artwork. Expect them to arrive over the next few days, depending where in the world you are.

Finally we've had some decent rain, everything smells lovely and the grass looks greener already. Went out on Warlord between showers and saw this great bird, a buzzard I think. Then got soaked, happily, as it rained again.
