Could be like a lycanthropy deal where he is infected and goes into a hybrid. Ever seen concept art for a deer or horse with a dog’s mouth? It’s creepy with all the teeth. Maybe just start with a Doberman outline then slowly add stag features till it feels right.

His favorite time was when he forgot a kid’s planet he stowed away, worked out especially hard and got a pleasant surprise for where it ended up. Now he holds “races” whenever he can “borrow” enough worlds.

Standard dream/spirit walk on the Akashic Field but somebody sees themselves smaller or has more concentrated/dense power. First meet up with another species. Fun ensues here or gradual love interest. Maybe he actually has a lot of power and the size difference is more extreme.

What constitutes a topic expert? Might want philosophical discussion on the ethics and morality of eugenics as well. Cause you know eugenics comes up and people will always make the obvious comparisons.

By the picture thought sword of inversion made “you” the sword. Would be an interesting mechanic, so anything that upgrades swords, upgrades a hero instead. Though that might be better for an “imperfect reflection sword”

Alternatively, Mc and everything is as it seems but aliens infected the Earth for “purposes” and don’t want thinking weapons. Or, could always go magic route with affinities and such.

The twist is the conscious rate is about 50-60% but most are just horrible people or going with the herd, literally. Ending could tie in the flower zombie story.
