"Tell us a little about you," they say. "We won't use it against you in the robot uprising," they say.
His vote has more weight than mine thanks to the electoral college.

I never really thought about it but that's a really good point.

Conservative news is going to listening to Trump, a president who's made it very clear he doesn't want people who oppose his agenda receiving airtime.

And those outlets make up a bigger piece of the pie than most realize.
February 5, 2025 at 10:25 PM
Yeah. Republican voters are a unified bunch. Going against Trump would be political suicide for a member of the GOP.

Tuberville stopped motion within the Senate. Servicemen couldn't be promoted because he stalled Congress.

This is completely different. As the minority party, Dems don't have the votes to push Congress to act on things happening outside the U.S. Capitol Building.
February 4, 2025 at 9:16 PM
Is that because you think it would actually make something happen or do you just want them to act angry?
February 4, 2025 at 7:55 PM
Okay, that's definitely something I haven't heard before. You've got my interest.

So what would either one accomplish? How would that be better than taking part and voting against?
February 4, 2025 at 7:48 PM
Again, please correct me if I'm wrong. I really want to be really wrong about this.
February 4, 2025 at 7:23 PM
They can obstruct bills put forth in the chambers, but the minority vote is powerless against executive orders.

That's why Republicans complained so much when Obama signed so many executive orders during his first term. There was nothing they could do until they took back the majority in 2010.
February 4, 2025 at 7:22 PM
I'm pretty sure that if they put their whole Congressional bussy behind it, they still couldn't get anything done.
February 4, 2025 at 7:17 PM
(That was a word salad, but I hope you get my point here.)
February 4, 2025 at 6:53 PM
Again, if there's anything Dems in Congress can do, I want to hear about it. Seriously. I'll fully jump on board.

But I think the issue is that the Schumers of the world can't do anything...Congressy about anything that's happening right now, and that sucks cuz all we can do is feel powerless.
February 4, 2025 at 6:51 PM
That's where I'm looking for more, I think.

"Do not collaborate" isn't really on the table yet. These are executive orders, not bills. Lawsuits can be started by anyone (and are), but probably won't go be won. Comms are happening, but I think most Dems are dissatisfied with the ineffectiveness.
February 4, 2025 at 6:49 PM
What would you like for Congress to do in this moment? I'm not asking in the typical condescending way. I want to know if there is something they can actually do to affect change.

And gay people, non-binary people, disabled people, veterans...

Anyone else unable to install Tailwind 4?

I'm following astro.build/blog/astro-5... on a brand new installation but getting "Astro could not update your astro.config.js file safely. Reason: Unable to install dependencies."
Astro 5.2 | Astro
Astro 5.2 is now available! The first minor release of 2025 includes Tailwind 4 support, a new way to access config values in your pages, better trailing slash handling, and support for external redir...

I think it's probably the latter.

If we're being fair, Teslas had huge problems before Musk exposed himself as a right-wing nutjob. Tesla's have been catching fire since their first model rolled off the truck.
January 2, 2025 at 8:46 PM
Yeah, I don't get their point either.

A few Samsung phones overheated and blew up a few years ago, for example, but that was a huge deal. They were banned from airplanes, there was a massive recall, and the company took a big hit to its reputation.

Why aren't people talking about Tesla fires more?

Yeah, there's no way "Matt Walsch" isn't a troll account.

Imagine thinking that views is an indication of how much people like the thing you tweeted, as opposed to, I don't know...likes.

You gave different start dates for COVID but none of those lined up with your point about 2019/2020.

And throughout all that you posted a bunch of weird photos and memes and weird conspiracy theories. Lots of "I think I'm pwning the libs!" energy.
November 25, 2024 at 2:08 AM
You talked about Trump's post-COVID economy as if that was a thing that actually existed.

You said Dems had way more COVID deaths. I asked you what timeframes you were looking at, but you ignored that too.
November 25, 2024 at 2:08 AM
I explained that the price of gas and groceries dropped under Trump because of the pandemic. That's what happens when "the Dems shut down the economy" and everyone is driving and eating less.

But you ignored that point.
