I witnessed a bullfight in Mexico when I was a child. Then, as now, I felt it was gory, stupid, and incredibly cruel. This darkly inhumane practice must be banished everywhere.

Well, I assumed something like this was coming but it still really really sucks: NewAm had its NEA grant terminated because it no longer aligns with agency priorities.
Looks like he wants to disband the NEA anyway, so maybe it’s irrelevant. But I don’t know what we’re going to do. We count on this.

This articulates & expands what I've been saying & thinking since the crisis began: Universities (especially those as rich as the ones being targeted) should ignore their endowment returns & alumni donations & band together to stand up for intellectual freedom. Capitulating has given them nothing.
