Looking at the latest data from the solar flare slamming into Earth right now, and it doesn't look like tonight's #aurora display will be as impressive. Still very RARE to even have the opportunity to see the #NorthernLights this far south.

Can you spot the cold front?! An arctic blast is set to bring temps below freezing tonight and tomorrow night across most of North Georgia #ArcticBlast #ColdFront

#HurricaneHunters find possible 188mph surface wind in the eyewall of #Melissa 👀 When I made the graphic, I set the top end at 175, so this is literally off my chart
October 28, 2025 at 12:20 AM
#Melissa remains a catastrophic cat 5 hurricane with maximum-sustained winds of 175mph. To put that into perspective, those maximum winds in the upper-right quadrant are equivalent to an EF4 tornado! This will be the strongest hurricane on record to impact the island of Jamaica

Looking relatively HOT for the Georgia Tech game this weekend as Temple travels to the Flats. Game time temperatures will be trending 5-8 degrees above average for the last weekend of summer

Look what we did!! Proud to be a part of the @weather.bsky.social team last year that worked on this landfall program. So I guess I should add Emmy Award-winner to the bio 🏆
The #NewsEmmys Award for Outstanding Breaking News Coverage goes to Hurricane Helene Landfall | Tracking Helene (The Weather Channel).

Looking for the threat for severe weather tomorrow late afternoon/evening. West central GA is in a level 3 of 5 risk, mainly for damaging straight-line winds, but an isolated tornado can't be ruled out. The rest of us are under a level 2 of 5 risk #GAwx #ATL #SevereStorms

Latest timing on the line of storms tomorrow night bringing the threat for severe weather to North Georgia and Metro Atlanta #GAwx #ATL #ATLwx #severe #SevereStorms

Look for the threat for #severe storms to return late Friday into early Saturday. We're still a few days out, so timing can change, but looks like the threat will arrive in the metro #ATL area from 12am-2am Sat. Damaging winds will be the main threat #GAwx #severestorms #severeweather

#NorthernLights ALERT: The #aurora may be visible tonight! You won't be able to see them with your naked eye, but using a camera with a longer exposure, or your cell phone on night mode, you may be able to get a shot. Best time to try is between 10p and 1am #GAwx #ATL

Not very often we share a shift together! Tracking the potential for severe storms today across North Georgia with Ella Dorsey and Intern Evan! #GAwx #ATL #SevereStorms

You don't always need thunder & lightning for a tornado. Classic debris signature on radar this afternoon (correlation coefficient) with the line of heavy showers across Henry County today. There was enough rotation for a brief spin up, but clearly damage was done. #GAwx #tornado
May 29, 2025 at 8:15 PM
Another round of showers and storms overnight with the potential for strong-to-severe storms containing large hail, strong damaging winds, and even an isolated tornado. The severe risk tonight is a level 1 of 5 for most of the area #SevereWeather #ATL #GAwx
May 26, 2025 at 9:44 PM
When a tornado warning pops up in the middle of your weather hit, you pull a Clark Kent: step offscreen, remove jacket, roll up sleeves, pop back on air. In less than 90 seconds lol #severeweather #GAwx #ATL #TornadoWarning
May 26, 2025 at 1:47 AM
It was definitely a busy night across our viewing area! Almost 20 severe thunderstorm warnings and 15 tornado warnings as the severe weather rolled through! #Atlanta #ATLwx #GAwx #severeweather #severewx

We've got a GORGEOUS day on tap to start the week off on Monday. You made need the jacket for a chilly start in the 40s across most of North Georgia, but by the afternoon, expect partly sunny skies and highs in the 70s! #GAwx #ATL #ATLwx
May 5, 2025 at 12:22 AM
A #SevereThunderstormWatch is in effect for Metro Atlanta until 11PM #GAwx #ATL #ATLWx
May 3, 2025 at 11:25 PM
Strong to severe storms continue to push through North Georgia. Should reach the metro by 8pm with damaging straight-line winds being the main threat. An isolated spin-up tornado can't be ruled out. #GAwx #ATL #ATLwx #SevereWeather
May 3, 2025 at 10:37 PM
A #SevereThunderstormWatch has been issued for NW Georgia until 11pm and for our Alabama counties until 8PM CT. The main threats are strong, damaging straight-line winds and large hail up to ping pong ball-size #GAwx #ATL #ATLwx
