The only reason I knew NS had good wine was by doing a road trip and buying some at the store. After that we bought a case online and had it shipped to Ontario.

Agreed, we have to get back to embracing entrepreneurial culture. As the article noted, our startup ecosystem has done relatively well but the $100mil scale-up position is sorely lacking, and you can't get to IPO without it.
