A little late for christmas, but I had to share this snow-covered holly (Ilex aquifolium).

So we had some snow today...
Found this little moss pillow on a tree branch.

A small moss pillow I found in my yard today. You can clearly see the fruiting bodies on the left patch.
Not sure what kind of moss this is. My best guess is Orthotrichum anomalum, but I may well be wrong.

I didn't expect it this early in the year, but it's always nice to find a speck of colour outside, especially when it's cold, grey and rainy.
