Retired teacher due to post Covid me/cfs, my fatigue and brain fog issues mean I am now registered as disabled. I lived in Germany, hate Brexit and waffle a lot about solar panels, renewables and home batteries.
I received a lovely text from the DWP this morning informing me that my PIP benefit renewal process is about to start. What fun. What could possibly go wrong? Imagine their surprise when I tell them that despite miracles sometimes happening, I am in fact still disabled.

I have largely withdrawn from social media because the constant attack mode of most content is exhausting. I cannot believe for instance there is any debate as to whether it was a nazi salute. It 100% was. I want to live in a world where the act is condemned. Not this world where it is applauded.

That sounds like a nightmare! My Solis inverter settings sometimes have a massive brainfart and don't charge or discharge when programmed to do so, but luckily it hasn't happened during these high price weeks we have had recently.

Good point. Also opting in shows willingness for the concept. These current high prices mean that the cost of refilling my battery would need to be less than the reward, otherwise exporting to the grid during a saving session would be silly.

Thanks for the tip. I think the extra drive would be worth it to have the option of having Silk with us. We are planning another European road trip next summer (Frankfurt, Goslar and Bielefeld last Easter) but went via the tunnel which my wife hates and had to leave Silk with our son.

I found the bins over by my fence, brought them back to where they were supposed to be and strapped them together with some bungee cords. Hopefully they will behave themselves tonight and stay put.

It looks like it is going to be a low solar generation day and at some point I am going to have to go out and find my bins.

I can’t quite believe I managed to do that!

I hate adverts on YouTube that are pretending to be podcasts.

There is a strong possibility that I am going to have a post Glühwein mit Schuss hangover in the morning. And I have very much enjoyed getting to the point that this has become a thing.

Night night.

I just did some much needed tidying up. Found a receipt for a printer, including the instant replacement warranty I bought at the same time. For the printer I took to the recycling centre last week after it stopped working. The warranty runs out next year.

Sigh.

I have been trying to learn German for 8 years, and trying to get my head around Akkusativ und Dativ for 7. Of all of the demands that learning a language brings I find that this is by far the hardest. I still get this routinely wrong in my Duolingo lessons.

I have a BAhons in Photography and Multimedia from the University of Westminster, but now I hardly ever take photographs. I finished the course right as digital cameras were becoming a thing, and my final show held at the Truman Gallery on Brick Lane relied heavily on digital technology.

The sun over the East Midlands came out for much of today for the first time in almost two weeks. Sadly an energy crash stopped me from making the most of it, but it was much nicer seeing some natural light coming in through my windows.

I spent 17 years (on and off) living in Germany. My profile picture was taken when I was fit and able to actually walk and living in Sennelager. It was just a few weeks before I had to move back to England due to the double whammy of COVID and Brexit.

I’m back! Like many in the UK I am tired of the extreme toxicity currently infecting X. I’m hoping this Bluesky place could be a little
less disturbing.

I need to make my first post on a new social media platform epic, something memorable.
