While you've been obsessing over January 21 (Trump reinstatement) and whether the sky is falling on your democracy, children in Congo and Sudan have been clawing raw minerals out of the earth to power your latest tech toys. Whole families in Gaza have been bombed into oblivion, living through "operations" that you probably can't name because they never made your trending topics. You talk about your "difficult times" as though the rest of the planet hasn't been burning for decades. America is not the center of the universe; it's an empire built on the backs of colonized and oppressed people worldwide. And the global majority may not have a lot of sympathy for the imperial core you know. You might think your meltdown is the only thing that matters, but for most of us, it's just another chapter in a long, ugly saga of wars, coups, and exploitative neo-liberal trade deals orchestrated under your banner of "freedom", "free market" and "democracy". None of this means we don't stand in solidarity with the Queer communities, Indigenous relatives, Black brothers and sisters, or the Working Class in the US who've been crushed by the same system that's terrorized so many abroad. But understand this: our solidarity doesn't hinge on your self-absorbed timelines or your government's shifting priorities. There's a world outside your borders, and it's been fighting for survival long before you even noticed
