Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo is the rosato version(sagnée) of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. It can be hard to find in the wild.

Barolo is an often underrated grape, and a good value find. How about a glass with some Carpaccio.

A classic cocktail from the 1920s to go with today’s reading. The Parisian. I went with the original recipe from the 1930 Savoy Cocktail Guide, which calls for an equal portions drink. Gin, Dry Vermouth, and Cassis. The black currant flavor really punches through this way.

Trying out an awesome wine tonight. Calera 2021 Selleck Vineyard Mt. Harlan Pinot Noir.
On the nose it’s got plenty of barnyard with red berries showing just underneath.
It’s aggressive at the front of the palate with bright currants and baking spice. 1/

Monk’s Cafe is tough to beat. I went with the Dupont Avec Les Bons Voeux. This is just a great holiday ale.

Today I had some Morellino di Scansano. Morellino is a synonym for Sangiovese in southern Tuscany. This one is from Fattoria di Magliano and is blended with 5% Syrah. This 2015 has managed to stand up, giving off tons of leather, tobacco, some plum, and cedar at the finish. Beautiful wine.
