In 1971 I was in the U.S. Marines. I went to the base library at the Naval Air Training Station in TN. The book "The female eunuch" by Germain Greer caught my eye. "How can a female be a eunuch?" I thought. It completely and permanently changed my views gender roles. Libraries matter. Books matter.

Even if we had the best center backs in the world, we wouldn't have won the match if we never scored a goal. To me, the fact that we constantly give the ball away and have extreme difficulty winning the ball back when we lose it is bewildering.
