I was wondering why they added this accessibility feature

Results were VERY good! I need to get better photos but this should give an idea.

If you know me, you know this is my favorite guy!

Perhaps Shiva can use diamond dust in the summer to help water crops and Ifrit uses Hellfire in winter to prevent crops from freezing over. 3/3

As your materia levels up, you’re able to do more advanced magic (take care of more crops at once). As you explore the region, you can also find powerful summon materia to have the deities help watch over your fields. 2/3

@square-enix-games.com I’d love to play an #FFVII farming/cozy game where you play as one of the first Cetra to settle a region. You start out with base level materia as your “farming tools” (Earth, water, 2x cut, etc) 1/3

I’d like to see a #FinalFantasy mainline game with a non-human main character. Imagine a storyline with a #moogle knight trying to save their kingdom and having to enlist the help of humans that no longer believe in Moogles. But the moogle is the only one that can sense the magical danger!

I loved the beach/tropical vibes of Spira! The key art of Tidus in the water always pulled me into that world. I loved how it wasn’t a traditional “medieval” world but also unique from FF7s futuristic world.

Or maybe it IS a giant pool but lurking inside is a Wailord ready to breach in front of you. Maybe certain moves only work in certain environments as well. (See avalanche, rock throw, etc.)

#3: Terrain! I think a generic flat stadium set up (Like Indigo league) is fine for certain battles. But imagine a stage with floating platforms. Now, flying Pokémon have the advantage. They may be weak to electric Pokémon but now they have to worry about traversing platforms in the air.

#2 Cont. This also makes it so that speed and size now play a larger part in strategy. A Snorlax might not be able to move fast (Unless they’re hungry) but it’s much harder to get an attack around them. The environment is also now coming into play…

#2 Cont. Of course, if all of your Pokémon get KOed, good luck surviving a Blastoise hydro pump to the face.

#2: Trainers are now part of the action in battles, think of Sumo Wrestling. The objective of each match is now to get the opposing trainer out of their box. Pokémon need to focus on offense & defense. If they don’t have a good affinity with you, why would they defend you?

#1 Cont. You have a lot of water Pokémon? Of course you’re a swimmer! Ghost Pokémon? Of course you conduct seances! Imagine the RPG aspect of the game also applies to your character! This would make catching them all much more challenging and the development of your trainer much more interesting.
December 20, 2024 at 6:46 PM
#1 cont. Maybe Pokémon like Golem and Machamp challenge you to a lifting competition lol. I gravitate towards this idea because now it makes sense that Pokémon Trainers take on aspects of the Pokémon they train with!

#1 Cont. I think it could be interesting to “tame” Pokémon by earning their respect. For example, maybe capturing some Pokémon is like capturing a horse in Zelda. If you have enough stamina to hang on, then eventually they’ll calm down and join you.

#1 Cont. If you involve your Pokémon in mini games (Mining, competition, making poffins, etc) you get Affinty Points. If you keep your Pokémon out of their Poke Balls, you get points. Basically, if you have an enriching relationship with your Pokémon, it’s beneficial for everyone!
December 20, 2024 at 6:46 PM
Here’s how I would adjust the battle system. #1: Add an affinity system! Imagine the more you walk or train with your Pokémon, the more their affinity grows. If you concede a battle before your Pokémon is KOed, you can gain a few affinity points. But if you let them get KOed, you lose points.

If Pikachu was willing to fight, Misty’s Pokémon would have been cooked! If the environment could be better integrated, we could see way more interesting battles!

Flaw #3: In the show (and manga) the environment plays a big part! But in the games, the environment only really comes in to play with the weather (providing attack boosts). The episode when Ash battles Misty in her gym is a great example of this.

Flaw #2: I’ve always hated how the trainer has no skin in the game. They force their Pokémon to battle and get injured but there is no risk to the trainer. I love when the series starts to explore Pokémon and trainer relationships. The deeper the bond, the more powerful the Pokémon!
December 20, 2024 at 6:46 PM
I’m not really a fan of Ash but I appreciated the kindness he showed his Pokémon and the relationship he built with them (Bye bye Butterfree 😭)
December 20, 2024 at 6:46 PM
First flaw #1: if someone started attacking you until you’re about to faint and then imprisoned you, would you want to fight for them?! I thought the show was great at showing how Pikachu and Charizard wouldn’t fight for Ash until they respected him.
December 20, 2024 at 6:46 PM
I’ve always thought that the Pokémon battle system is flawed and I have some thoughts on how it could be revamped. Let me know your thoughts if you read through! A thread?
