TL;DR: Valve abandoned the ecosystem they created and fucked over Index customers. It sucks.

Like, seriously, if you're in the PCVR enthusiast space, want to keep using objectively superior base station tracking, index controllers which are by far the best on the market, and vive trackers, you have to look else where. Valve kind of just fucked those customers over.
