Absolutely agree. Incidents like this, even if not connected, can still serve as a catalyst for building momentum towards positive change. We need that energy and motivation now more than ever 💯

Hey Jon, FYI this incident has nothing to do with FAA staffing.

Private pilot chose to ignore multiple instructions from ATC to not cross the runway. SWA pilot and ATC did their jobs perfectly.

I agree with the larger sentiment, but this is a case where there isn't a connection between these two.

And? I agree staffing needs to be better overall, but it wasn't a factor here.

The FlexJet pilot chose to not follow directions from both tower and ground ATC who were clearly communicating with him the whole time (you can listen to the tapes yourself on LiveATC.net).

While I agree with the sentiment, today's incident at Midway had nothing to do with the FAA or the current political climate.

Private pilot didn't follow instructions and tried to cross an active runway.

Falsely conflating these two issues doesn't help and erodes your credibility.
