Nature & growth can thrive together — but only with the right choices

The new Planning & Infrastructure Bill could bridge the gap, or it could deepen the divide

Find out what it means for nature in Suffolk & how you can help make nature’s voice heard 👇

A few white feathers are fairly irresistible, a few scattered near the mud tray can help to get all the birds in the colony interested if they seem to be reluctant to find the mud.

Interested in finding out more about how you can help / like a talk for your local group ? Get in touch 🙂

Can you create a mud pie for house martins? It’s been pretty dry spring, making it difficult for birds building nests

Plastic plant trays can be useful for keeping the mud wet for longer, good on hard surfaces, they can even be used successfully on flat roofs if safe/ practical to do so. 1/2

I love finding opposite leaved golden saxifrage as it always grows in such beautiful places - I saw a pair of pied flycatchers prospecting close by 😁

Moon sparkles on the sea tonight! A marine fireworks display, as Manxies soar in and shoot down their burrows to avoid being spotted by the Great Black-backed Gulls patrolling the plateau.

Can you help make a mud pie?
First house martins seen back in Suffolk this week !
Apologies for straying off topic but the first House Martins and Swallows are now arriving back & Suffolk is bone dry. If you have an open field then create a mud splat and keep it moist until we have rain. This is a big one in Woolpit @sbghousemartins.bsky.social @suffolkbirdgroup.bsky.social

A SOSSwift Community Set has gone to Westfield Primary School in Haverhill, Suffolk. Their pupils will decorate and number the 6 nest boxes before installation and calls will be played May-July. It will take time but a colony will develop @suffolkwildlife.bsky.social @suffolkbirdgroup.bsky.social
