In Journalism 1200, students learn the basics of photo taking. We apply elements learned in class to real life practices. This photo has the element of leading lines, drawing the viewers attention to the middle of the photo. In this case the leading line is the sidewalk.

In my course Journalism 1300, I was tasked to write a release for an event. The commencement speech I wrote about reflected a news value of timeliness. This demonstrated to me as a student about the importance of quick writing, editing and publishing to update the news with accuracy.

Through my work on Her Campus Mizzou, I have learned about entertainment and magazine writing. Below is an article of mine discussing a Tik Tok trend. Writing for a magazine has brought me more experience overall as a student that has enhanced my work in my current classes.

As a J-School student at the University of Missouri, I like to learn best through the Missouri method. Otherwise known as getting hands on work that bests prepares students for a future in journalism. With my emphasis in strategic communications, my work reflects this learning style.

Personal Branding Statement: I use my previous j school classes and personal social media knowledge to combine skills to perform my best in J4160. Through my goal of being dedicated to learning in this course, I will gain the most I can for a future career, when I serve my best work for a class.
