Sensō-ji in Asakusa is a top tourist destination but is extremely busy. A good time to visit if you aren't interested in the crowds or the shopping there is at night! The pond and pavilion are also a beautiful sight at night as well.

Where do you usually stay in Japan? Hotels are the most common accommodations amongst tourists, but Airbnb can get you into a place that offers more value and/or space than a traditional hotel, especially for groups!

It might seem crazy to go to a place like McDonald's which you can go to at home, but they do have exclusive items and seasonal items that might be worth checking out. The Shaka Shaka chicken is pretty tasty and a lot of fun to shake! You'll also find some nice finds during tsukimi season too

The price on the rail pass has gone up, so it's not worth it for most travelers. Still, calculate your trips and add them up just to double check, but we prefer flying which is often cheaper and faster than the train. Flying domestic is a lot easier than you think!

Planning a trip to Kyoto & Osaka? Be sure to hop on the beautiful Kyo-Train Garaku, a special train on the Hankyu line that features special theming for each train car. Some have special seating, and some have little gardens to look at during the trip!

Don't knock it until you try it! Western food is not as difficult to find as you would think in Japan. From pizza to burgers to fries, there are many places that are hidden gems for tourists wanting to try a new take on something they're familiar with. We recommend trying a top pizza place in Tokyo!

Fukuoka is a foodie's paradise! The city offers many unique local foods, but the stars of the show are the many #yatai food stalls scattered around the Tenjin and Nakasu areas. Be sure to check one out the next time you are there!

Have you heard of Blue Seal ice cream? It's an Okinawan staple, something you have to try if you go to Okinawa but a few shops can be found in major cities like Tokyo & Kyoto.

Top choices for flavors include Okinawan Salt Cookie (Chinsuko) flavor as well as Blue Wave (Ramune soda & Pineapple)

Buns (butaman) are popular in Japan, and few places do it better than 551 Horai. Their Shu Mai dumplings are juicy and fantastic as well. They can be found in the Kansai region, and often in the basement food halls of department stores like Daimaru!

Considering a stop in Nagoya on your trip to Japan? Yeah...most other tourists aren't, either. Despite being Japan's fourth-largest city, the Aichi Prefecture location sees a fraction of Tokyo and Osaka's tourists. That raises the question: is there really so little to do there?
