Today is Setsubun a Japanese festival that marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring. It's celebrated with bean-throwing rituals and other traditions to drive away bad luck and evil spirits. So I wore the demon (oni) mask as I greeted the kids at the entrance (as I do every morning).
