Grant Morrison is my favorite comic book writer and there's *a lot* to choose from, but the last issue of his DOOM PATROL run holds a special place in my heart. Issue 63, "The Empire of Chairs", is a study in loss, isolation and mental health that I appreciated even more as I got older.

Waking up as a kid in the very early 1980's when it was still dark, and turning on the TV to see this image was a whole vibe that is difficult to convey to younger folks today. Stations didn't run 24 hours. 4am was a surreal space back then.
