I thought that another reason might be that there are less clear criteria on how to judge what is ‚good‘ theoretical work, esp. in cases where it is not connected to empirical findings. This might lead some reviewers to judge theoretical work as just ‚toying with words‘? @seyfert.bsky.social

Why do you think they judge it this way? What are the reasons that purely theoretical work seems to be less accepted?
