Also, for a 20yo group, the number of members in the comeback is kinda miraculous

Personally, I think it’s got some real pukku pukku pow pow energy

1. Wayv "Give Me That". So stoked that this FINALLY secured them a win! Fun fact: my birthday also appears in the M/V.
INFINITE concert came at the exact right time for me to extend my trip & attend The Show for Wayv's second ever win, with Frequency (and commemorate Xiaojun's last show as an MC).

2. TripleS "Girls Never Die". Three girl-group tracks in my top 5! That's pretty decent. TBH the top 4 in this list are all pretty much interchangeable.

3: NCT 127 "Walk". I'm pretty happy the weak link had already sat out so many of the last year's schedules.

4. Aespa "Supernova". This year the "one song per group" rule was the reason the top ten wasn't one third Aespa tracks.

I love how happy Winter looks, usually when I see her she's pouting.

5: (G)I-dle "Wife". Lyrics are weird, but I actually think "but I don't wanna wife" is an excellent line. I mainly like this for the "kitchen beat" instrumental

6: Ten "Nightwalker". Just quality songwriting all round, and a delightfully weird M/V

7: Yuta "Off The Mask". Another banging chorus. I'm mildly surprised and VERY relieved that he got to release a proper rock album.

8: Enhypen "Brought The Heat Back". This music video does VERY well by all the members, but especially universal bias wrecker, Jungwon. He's so sassy!

9: Riize "Impossible". This was a REAL close choice between this and "Lucky". I'm going to also sneaky-sneaky nudge up my NCT count for the two ex-members.
Also, justice for Seunghan, SM caving to haters is def the biggest disappointment of 2024. Maybe they should put him in 127..?

10: Itzy "Mr Vampire". Another very pretty song, with another Heather-style progression, but I'm mainly a sucker for the repeating pipey thing in the chorus.

11: TXT "Over the moon". The song isn't especially novel, but it's so, so pretty, especially the chorus. This is a very Heather-style chord progression reminiscent of one of my all-time favourite pop tracks, Supermen Lovers' Starlight from like 2001 (which sampled East Coast's "The Rock" from '78).

12: NCT Dream "Smoothie". One thing I love about this m/v is the group choreography is so tight it looks like they're copy/pasting a single member dancing
NCT dominating my playlist this year. Songbird missed out because SHINee kinda already did it in 2013, & Fraktsiya was in my top 15 as well.

Def worth avoiding spoilers! Pray was AMAZING, & I loved the solo stages as well. Also the grandiose intro into Last Romeo (more choreo I was excited to see live)! If I had to choose a highlight tho, I'd probably have to say Air, and Destiny.
