Califoregonian, Reagan scared me, now I’m trying not to be terrified. Walked for choice the FIRST time, dog rescue, gardening. Sober AF, love my little coastal OR town. Slava Ukraine. Please NO DMs unless I know you…cmon guys, (& gals!) it’s just creepy.
I flew a large US flag above my Kamala sign during the election, and duct taped 2 to my protest sign at the last protest I attended. Will be doing it again this weekend.

My Saturday morning, with Motley Crew, Oscar and Wolfie stuffed on my lap in front of the pellet stove. Mots is the cat who looks like she’s made from spare cat parts.

Ahhh, I have all of those except the hibiscus here in my coastal Oregon garden. There’s always next year!

Ahhhh, snapdragons! They’re what my nutty garden is missing this summer. Next year, imma have me some snapdragons, if we’re all still here.

That’s where I’ll be in my little bitty city, passing up my annual community picnic, standing alongside a coastal highway, being smoked out by shamed boys driving diesel trucks with bypass switches enabling them to emit uncombusted fuel.

Coos Bay , OR, pop 15985, we’ve had protests along our Boardwalk every 2 weeks for months: lately we’ve been drawing 700-1000 participants. Can’t wait to see what we draw on 7/4.

This is how I’ll be spending my Independence Day. It’s the most patriotic thing I can possibly do.

Yeah, the big one (Daisy) can make some noise, but the guy on the chair is named Steve, Death Row Steve, in fact. Reason? Oh, no reason…

Guys wanna see my latest rescue? Bochy, in the deck chair, died last summer at 16: ancient for a 100 lb dog. I waited for my knee replacement & my heart to heal, & started looking. This is who showed up. Name’s Ginger, lost her owner to dementia, freaked out by shelter, settling in on day 2.

This is Death Row Steve: he was in Nando’s paws 5 years ago. The kid at the adoption fair begged me to take him: he had 1 chance. I’ve never seen a dog so shut down. He’d come into the shelter in a trap, they assumed he was feral. 🤷‍♂️, but he came out of his fugue state when home.

Speaking of rescue/foster huskys, this is Pepe. I just found a placement for him after 2+ month rehab.

I currently am fostering a lovely husky whose at-best neglectful person has been disabled by strokes. This guy has absolutely no reason to be kind, trustful, or teachable, and yet he is. He does, however, need to go to a woman: he is deeply fearful of men.
