I think the part with the providers is actually pretty common. Here, public hospitals typically have contracts with every insurance company, though. Only with more niche stuff (such as w/ psychologists) it can get a bit complicated. You can switch insurance companies freely and each is free, though.

But infrared waves have their lengths, so you should be able to just easily remap them to a blue-red scale. It's not even an algorithm, just rescaling of the values. The alt text of the image describes this
