Very excited to be attending #BuchBerlin in a couple of weeks. Come see me there!

I remember being salty that I had to download something just to play the game I had gotten for Christmas. And look at me now.

Look at me now.

I love how little understanding this company seems to have of anything related to being an author, but that does not seem to step them from charging money for...something?

May the universe grant us all the confidence of a tech bro who just learned a new buzzword. <3

I'm super excited for Dream Sweet in a Minor Sea to have made the longlist for the Stockholm Writers Festival First 5 Pages prize!

You know you want to check it out now. :D

I'm going to shamelessly self-promote and recommend my own sci-fi novel, the Jovian Madrigals. It's got deranged AIs, it's got hapless romantics, it's got philosophical musings and casual terrorism. What more could you want? :D

This is what love feels like.

Not knitting, but would you like to see my cross-stitches?

Here's a fat puffin, a Scottish terrier, and the beginning of a new project!

Three months later, and my version of the Lantern Bearers is complete. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. :)

Sure, it looks like it's just rice, but what if I told you this particular rice is the preferred dish of djinni hanging out by lakes? www.jannekeparrish.com/around-the-w...

And I say
Thank you for the memeing, the memes I'm posting
Thanks for all the joy they're hosting
Who could live without it? I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without deranged AI memes, what are we?
So I say thank you for the memes
For sending them to me!

Get yourself a readerbase who loves meming your characters as much as you do.

(Seriously, though, send more SYNAC memes. They make my day every time.) 📚🪐💙

This is the highest praise I could ever hope to receive for the Jovian Madrigals. :D

Some say it's mashed plantains and pickled onions. I say it's an opportunity to discuss how etymology, folklore, and cultural identity all interact over the backdrop of cuisine. Check out this week's #veganrecipe from the Dominican Republic - mangu! www.jannekeparrish.com/around-the-w...

Welp, I immediately hate this.

Here's the elephant who did it, not looking guilty in the slightest.

The single best thing that has ever happened to me was when I went to the @sheldricktrust.bsky.social in Nairobi. They were introducing the baby elephants to the crowd, and one got super excited about something. It charged over, full baby energy, and knocked me into a mud puddle.

Best. Day. Ever.
