Abundant housing. Justice. Dismantling oppression. Mpls politics. Observations from Zürich. She/her.
I'd hate to leave any readers who don't speak German out of the joke.

While Müll is trash, Mühle is mill, which is less disturbing and logical for a litter-free place like Switzerland.

Does this mean my Minnesota card has been revoked?
November 9, 2025 at 6:04 PM
Yep, this is the way.

Ope. Forgot sarcasm doesn't work online. Absolutely the rules, jerk move, thanks for saying no. I like to think I would have done the same if I'd been the EJ.

Maybe we can agree to disagree about how much work it is to recruit 20 voters (who have to meet eligibility criteria and do the thing in a specific time window).

That's a lot of work, though, David. And numerous supporters willing to volunteer.

The center L and center R voters are needed to build the coalition to beat the far right Jacob. When all the progressive electeds and orgs get behind the furthest to the left candidate (rather than one that can pick up voters in the center) they express their sincere preference, and help Jacob win.

Oh, no. I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope that the East Isles folks who learned organizing the last few years will continue to organize neighbors.

That's a recent change. ISAIAH has been organizing hard there, and in East Isles, and it shows.

Thanks for sharing your thinking. I'll reflect on that, too. It's hard to balance giving people credit - we're smart and resilient - while honoring the effects of trauma.

Dang, that's a sharp boundary crossing Hennepin Avenue South between Franklin and Lake - both in terms of density of votes, and in who was ranked first.

I struggle to see how 1st-past-the-post is better for that than RCV. Most voters ranked three candidates. I was happy I got to vote for my first choice candidate, I was happy it got redistributed to someone else - who I liked less. Voters vary - finding 1 person for everyone is tough!

Why would the presence of autocracy affect whether RCV works?
November 6, 2025 at 7:10 PM
5% drop off is very low. That reads as a success of RCV to me.

Some candidates tell supporters to do this. They are being educated, but ineptly.

This is the story of ward 7. I'm thankful that, after 28 years, i had two years where I was represented in city hall. Thank you for all you did this year.
