I stand corrected about McDonald’s. They spent money on these after-concert parties outside the Superdome and I was not mad at it. Open bar, music, food — they went in. And thankfully hired one of my fav restaurant owners in the city for the food demos - Chef Vyoone 🫶🏽

McDonald’s used to have a massive presence. Giving out fresh French fries and all sorts of games, a stage. This year they put up a little hut and gave away bags like an assembly line.

Spending a month traveling through Vietnam with one of my favorite people. 🙏🏽 Planned it around the annual Po Nogar festival (the indigenous Cham people’s Rice Mother Goddess). I’d go back!

Saw this on an IG Haitian news/culture account. This is BAD. Owner of the account pinned his comment how folks from the Diaspora have a lot to say but what matters is the experience of the people on the ground (True!). But then talks about it “like give this guy a chance” which is very disconcerting

The Gov was very vocal about his hatred of New Orleans & desire for increased criminalization/surveillance. When slate of progressives won in 2022, opps been: a) pushing narrative of harsher policing=less crime; b) undermining transformative justice/community public safety. All convenient timing 👀
