Maybe they find being an assistant or worker to random people entertaining if its a fun utopian society. Maybe they dont and its just another job if they truly recreated their old planets society. I like the idea of a robotic race evolving exactly like humans but starting as toasters.

Sent to planet for research and built themselves up into bipedal sentient beings, now they recreated society on mars. Throw a plot into it and you can have a bunch of em just be people. This is probably more boring then them only being assistants but it would work out and its free world building.
