Two interesting things were that my grandad was mixed race, which we hadn’t know but makes sense looking our family. But also reading this guys obituary and my grandads funeral service. Many similarities not least obsessive collecting (coins, stamps, records etc).

Two interesting things were that my grandad was mixed race, which we hadn’t know but makes sense looking our family. But also reading this guys obituary and my grandads funeral service. Many similarities not least obsessive collecting (coins, stamps, records etc).
Long & short is it turned out my grandad’s dad wasn’t who he’d thought. I pieced together his dad was this guy, a prominent Jamaican industrialist from a prominent family. He was 21 years older than my gr-grandma who was 17 at age of conception. An 80 year old scandal unearthed by chance.
