This was nothing less than an execution. Our government is executing citizens. If the government insists it was justified law enforcement (and they will), we no longer have a country.

I look forward to hearing Republican leaders try to sell this mess as a triumph. I dearly hope this speech will be a long overdue wakeup call. Perhaps I'm overestimating their capacity to finally act in our country's best interests.
