There will be a huge powershift to countries possessing rare metals not unlike the shift that has happened with the discovery of oil. So it would be in the US best interest not picking fights with countries rich in rare metals like Ukraine, China, Greenland/Belgium and Canada.

Trump is killing the USA. Everyone thought there would be a long trade war between the US and China. Trump lost this war with his first move. China never wanted this war, as they did not care about being in the shadows getting richer by selling cheap stuff all over the world.

If Trump tells you we screwed you over and you believe him... I am sorry. I see it differently but if it helps you: It was never our intention. It's hard for me to feel guilty as the USA is still the biggest superpower.
