You have perfectly captured the conundrum. What gets resourced gets delivered. That requires funding of people, systems and infrastructure. Yet the politics of promising to deliver more with lower or no taxes is alive and well.

It reminds me of the early days of the Ford administration when the only role of the cabinet was to be a clapping seal for the leader. Today was shameful, and we are now fully into the decline of America and the rise of autocracy and colonialism that will take us back a thousand years.

Police unions will back who ever they think will win and are always happy to jump in front of any parade where they see an opportunity to improve things for their members. That’s why their members pay union dues. It’s not complicated. So they have picked Ford for the win….this time.
