Writer. Author. Producer.
My friend Joan (pictured) & her twin sister Chris arranged for a rare Game One World Series Jays scarf (that were handed out in Toronto) for me in memory of my late mother Theresa who was the number one Jays fan. Chris nabbed it for me & Joan delivered it at my signing.

Every Little Thing originated out of debilitating illness and went on to try & prove that the small & big acts of kindness we do for one another & complete strangers make this world a better place. That kindness starts with one person. And that person & act makes a difference.

Award-winning author and literary star, Carol Bruneau, has read and reviewed my book, Every Little Thing - how small acts of kindness make a big impact. She described it as “powerful.”
That is something I will never forget. What an absolute honour. Thank you, Carol. ❤️

We lit two candles for each set of late grandparents at Notre Dame Cathedral in Old Montreal this week.

It comforts me knowing that although we are back in Halifax, the lights glow on in memory of Baz, Theresa, Betty, and George. May they shine eternally.

I love Old Montreal.

Sir Paul blew the roof off the Bell Centre in Montreal last night. One of one top three concerts of my life. Three hours of joy. Unbelievable!

My buddy. The first pet (furry family member) since I was a child. My dog Tippy was hit by a car in Purcell’s Cove - when it was the mid seventies. I vowed I would never go through that heartache again and I didn’t for more than four decades. And then this furball came along. 🥹

I found this stunning painted poppy rock this week while walking at the Frog Pond. I gifted it to someone who has a big heart and an appreciation for nature and life. Giving gratitude and in remembrance today - and daily.

“Boy from the Pier” is the late Bill Jessome’s masterpiece story about his own leaving from Pier 21 for the war effort in Europe. The voice work is profoundly moving. Bill was my late writing mentor. I share this with great respect and humility. RIP, Bill.

Did my winter garden prep. Glorious day. After I was done, I spent some time reflecting in the garden on the many good times Laura, Rob and I have had here with my late parents and Rob’s late mother. His father died long before we met and Laura was born. Grateful for them all.

At it again. I hope I am not irritating you with these posts, forgive me if I am, but this kindness project is important to me.
After having a debilitating illness, all the little things are now the big things. I don’t take things for granted like maybe I did before. Grateful.
Thank you. ❤️

Today was the day!

I have been going to the Frog Pond since grade six or seven and I have waited to see the elusive albino squirrel and - here he is!

Wow.

Thank you to the person who helped me find him today.
What a unique creature. Nature is a balm.

Watching the Jays (GO JAYS) while the cat is watching Laura and I making treat bags.

A Halloween tradition for many years, I look forward to it, and perhaps sample a few items - for quality control - for the kids.

Enjoy Halloween week. 🎃
